The PS84 Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a non-profit organization focused on fundraising and community-building events and initiatives for the Lillian Weber school.  As parents and teachers at PS 84, you are automatically members of the PTA. One of the key factors that make PS84 a successful school is a strong PTA with active parents and teachers working together to enhance our children’s education. One peek at our rooftop garden and you’ll see what we mean!

Nowadays, it takes a village to run a public school. Especially in New York City! The various initiatives that contribute to the basic -- as well as enriching -- needs of our students require funding beyond what the Department of Education provides. Therefore, the PTA relies on the generous support of parents to bridge the gap between services funded by the city and all the wonderful programs and resources that PS84 believes are critical to fostering well-prepared, well-rounded students including:

• Teaching Assistants (TA)

• Recess Aides (RA)

• Environmental Science teachers

• Librarian and library supplies

• Garden supplies

• School assembly & performances

Direct donations account for most funds raised every year. The balance of PTA income is raised from our not-to-be-missed fundraising initiatives.  These events raise critical funds, but they are also FUN and celebrate our wonderfully diverse community.

PTA General Meetings are held monthly -- the dates for this year are on the here. Please remember the PTA is as good as what we put into it, and your involvement makes a tremendous difference in the school experience of your child and all of our children. Let your voice be heard!
